I love my dogs but let’s be honest new toys in our house last about 60 seconds if they are not made well.

In the past I use to get really frustrated because I was spending a lot of money on dog toys.  The toys I would buying usually cost about $3 -$5 each.  This doesn’t seem like a lot of money when when you are buying one toy a week it starts to add up.

One day I had enough so I called my mom.  She owns her own pet sitting business so she was able to give me a list of toy that last for dogs who chew and need to stay active.

Below is a list of the Best Dog Toys for Dogs Who Chew.

Nylabone’s are great for dogs who like to chew on things all day long.  They are made out of nylon so they last for a long time .

I was able to find a twin pack for $10.99 two years ago.  My dogs still chew on these same bones today.

The best part about Nylabone’s is that they come in all different sizes and flavors for all different types of dogs.

Toe injury Alert: My dogs like to leave their Nylabone’s all over the house.  I have gotten up in the middle of the night before to use the bathroom and have kicked one across the room. It hurts really really bad.  So keep a pair of house slippers by your bed to prevent your toes from being injured.

Buster cubes

Buster Cubes work really well for dogs that get board quickly.  My one dog is part border collie. If we don’t keep his mind engaged he gets board and starts to chew on things he is not supposed to.

The Buster Cube is a maze that you put some dog treats in or I even use dry dog food.  Your dog then has to push it around and figure out how to get the food out.

I can fill up the buster cube and my border collie will spend about an hour getting all the treats out. I also helps that he is food motivated so this is the perfect toy for him.

Glow in the Dark Ball

My dogs require a lot of exercise to keep them out of trouble. During the winter we don’t get a lot of play time outside. It is usually dark when I  get up and dark when I get home from work.

One day while I was at the pet store I saw a glow in the dark ball. It looked like it was made well so I figured I would give it a try.

It worked great. I just keep the ball inside and about 5 minuets before we go out to play fetch I put the ball under a lamp.

Our glow in the dark ball has provided lots of extra play time that we normally would not get.

My dogs love their Kong toys.  To keep them busy and mentally stimulated we fill their Kong’s with peanut butter.  They usually spend about a hour trying to get all the peanut butter out.

My husband also loves to take the Kong outside to play with the dogs.  The shape of it makes it bounce in all different directions. The dogs never know which way it is going to bounce.

Over the years these toys have saved me a lot of money and I hope they work for you to.  Let us know what toys have worked for your dog by clicking here.  I would love to hear from you.

My shiba is a big chewer. Even this morning, he was chewing on a squeaker he pulled out of a toy. I came back 10 minutes later and coudn’t find the squeaker anywhere! I thought for sure he swallowed it! (I ended up finding it). He loves nylabones (chewing on one now actually) and kongs but I think I will definitely have to check out those buster cubes!

Our German Shepard loves his Kong! But honestly, he loves stuffed animals better. Especially those that squeak haha so while they don’t last long in our home and they make quite the mess when he pulls them apart, we still continue to buy them for him. It’s worth it to see his excitement as he tears into them haha

I have the Kong and LOVE it. My puppy is a Rottie mix and he’s teething so the Kong reeeeeally helps, thanks for sharing! Also, since you’re a dog mom, have you checked out my Big Dog Babes group?
